WESTON – For the second time in a year, Weston’s new active adult community, Highland Meadows, has received top honors in an industry competition showcasing the region’s best residential architecture, design, building and marketing.
Highland Meadows received Gold Awards for Best 55+ Community, Best Community Clubhouse, and Best Media Room from the Builders Association of Greater Boston at the 2009 PRISM Awards, held Oct. 14 at the Boston Park Plaza.
PRISM Awards are presented every other year, and the Builders Association has been hosting the event for more than two decades.
Maureen Fraser, Highland Real Estate Development’s director of sales and marketing, accepted the awards.
“This community was designed to deliver beautiful exterior and interior architectural design, but also the most contemporary luxuries available in home building today,” said Fraser, who thanked industry peers for the honor. The community is well-known locally for the developer’s lengthy planning process and extensive use of green design, as well as for the preservation of surrounding conservation land.
More than 250 entries were received for PRISM Awards from dozens of greater Boston’s most prestigious architects, designers and builders.
Highland Meadows has already received five first-place awards from the New England chapter of the National Association of Home Builders 50+ Housing Council at its 2008 “Best of 50+ Housing Awards,” winning in every category entered.
Interest in Highland Meadows has been equally strong among homebuyers since opening in the spring of 2008. The community has sold out the first phase offering of six town homes and seven of the eight single family detached homes. Currently, there is just one home left in Phase One, and both Phase Two and Phase Three are under way with both pre-sales and construction.
Occupancy is now available in the community from fall 2009 through summer of 2011. Purchase prices range from $1.295 million to $3.75 million, depending upon type and size of home, and location within the community.
